South East Water Update

Good Morning,

I am writing to provide an update regarding water supplies in Coxheath, Loose, Linton, and surrounding areas.

We are very sorry to customers who have experienced low pressure or no water yesterday. These customers should now have their water supplies returned, however there could be lower pressure or no water when more households are all using water at the same time.

Due to unprecedented demand during this period of hot, dry weather, drinking water levels in the local storage tank are still lower than normal, and we still need customers to be mindful of their water use so we can continue to recover the storage levels and stabilise supplies.

The bottled water stations below are open again for the customers in the Sutton Valance and Headcorn area that remain without water.

  • Morrisons Sutton Road, Maidstone ME15 9NN
  • Mote Park Leisure Centre, Mote Park, Maidstone ME15 7RN
  • Mercure Hotel, Hollingbourne, Maidstone ME17 1RE

There are also community hubs at the following locations:

  • Sutton Valence Village Hall, North Street, Sutton Valence, Maidstone, Kent, ME17 3LP
  • Headcorn Village Hall, Church Lane, Headcorn, Ashford, Kent, TN27 9NR
  • Hollingbourne Village Hall, Eyhorne Street, Hollingbourne, Maidstone, Kent, ME17 1TR
  • Coxheath Village Hall, Stockett Lane, Coxheath, Maidstone, Kent, ME17 4PT

What are we doing?

We’re doing all we can to keep customers in supply for as long as possible. This includes:

  • Ensuring all available water treatment works are operating at maximum capacity.
  • Tankering water directly into storage tanks and injecting water directly into the network where possible to top up levels.
  • Deploying as many teams as possible into your area to find and fix leaks quickly.
  • We are delivering bottled water to customers on our Priority Services Register and supporting critical sites, including local farms, care homes, and medical centers.

We know how disruptive and frustrating losing water is, particularly during warm weather, and we apologise unreservedly for the impact on your communities.

We will update you again later today with the latest situation. Please share this information across your local networks.

Kind regards,

Matthew Dean
